Jennie Walsh Memorial

God Saw You

God saw you getting tired,
and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
and whispered "Come to Me".

The pain you suffered and endured,
Would have conquered a weaker soul
Your willful, stubborn, hope-filled heart
Placed you in a stronger role

With tearful eyes we watched you,
and saw you pass away.
Although we love you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
Your  precious heart stopped beating,
your fragile body at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

"My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart,
and my portion for ever."
Psalm 73:26

Jennie A. Walsh

12/7/1978 - 1/9/2011

Our beloved Jennie died on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at home, in her bed. She was 32 years old. Jennie had been very ill for a long time, struggling with anorexia and many health complications.  Her fragile body had been through so much, including ovarian cancer, a life threatening lung infection, recurring pressure sores, chronic renal insufficiency and frequent pneumonias. Her body chemistry was often abnormal requiring intravenous intervention. She was hospitalized often, and most recently was experiencing severe chest pain and trouble breathing. Her body had enough, and Jennie quietly passed away this afternoon, as I was preparing to take her to the hospital.

Jennie was my sunshine, my baby, and was a great source of comfort to me when her sister passed away in 2009. We shared  many happy times together, even when she was hospitalized. I treasure all those moments!

Jennie attended Crossroads Assembly of God for many years, working in the nursery, Vacation Bible School and other activities. She was a gifted dancer and attended D'Marge Dance Studio as well as the New Jersey School of Ballet.  She participated in many competitions, and had a bright future in ballet until her eating disorder took hold.

I took care of Jennie for many years, and thank God for the opportunity to be there for her in her times of need. She was a blessing to me and I cherish the years we had together.

The daughter of John and Marie (me) Walsh, Jennie is predeceased by her sister, Laura. Her older sister Jackie went home to be with the Lord in June, 2013.  She is survived by her brother David. She was also aunt to Jack, Reeve and Luke Walsh, children of David and his wife Pam; niece of Helen and Stew Owens; cousin to Craig, Jessica and her husband Joe, and their children Amanda and Joey; and niece of Gary Walsh of Vermont.
