Laura Walsh Memorial

God Saw You

God saw you getting tired,
and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
and whispered "Come to Me".
With tearful eyes we watched you,
and saw you pass away.
Although we love you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

"Come to Me, all you who labor
and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

Laura Marie Walsh
8/10/1975 - 3/18/2009

Our beloved Laura died on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. She was only 33. Her death was sudden and unexpected and has left us devastated by our loss.

She was born at Newton Memorial Hospital on August 10, 1975 at 4 am. We spent many happy years at our home in Culver Lake. Laura was homeschooled for five years along with her sister Jennie, and then attended High Point Regional High School. She graduated in 1994, attended Marist College for one year and then transferred to William Paterson University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master's Degree in Psychology. She was employed by Community Hope in Morris Plains as a residence manager for a group home for the mentally ill on the grounds of Greystone State Hospital. She felt a real compassion for the mentally ill and enjoyed the challenges of her job.

Laura attended Crossroads Assembly of God in Hamburg for many years, working in the nursery, Vacation Bible School and other activities. She was also an avid dancer and attended D'Marge Dance Studio in Newton for many years, and participated in many competitions. Her best buddy at home was our Westie, Cleo, who slept with Laura.

Jennie and I were fortunate to have Laura living with us for the past four years in our condo in Montague. She was a blessing in my life, and I cherish the years we had together.

The daughter of John and Marie (me) Walsh, Laura was joined in heaven by her younger sister Jennie in 2011, and then by her older sister Jackie in 2013. She is survived by her brother, David, her stepmother Kathy, and two stepsiblings, Kelly and Stefan. She was also aunt to Jack, Reeve and Luke Walsh, children of David and his wife Pam,  niece of Helen and Stew Owens, cousin to Craig, Jessica and her husband Joe, and their children Amanda and Joey, and niece to Scott.
